Don’t let comfort control you

Dear readers,

People forget that growth doesn’t start with beauty. Growth begin in silence, in sacrifice, restraint, and discipline that didn’t look elegant at all. It’s the version of you that put in all the hours of focus just to make ends meet. I think there’s a certain calmness in knowing your full potential specially when things are working out for you.

Have something that once you start it’s out of your control to stop. That it demands you to show up.

And when you do, it builds up your self- confidence. It proves to you if given the opportunity you can come out alive on the other side. And then you begin to see anything aligning with you as a new opportunity to improve yourself rather than hiding from them.

And I understand, sometimes you need to take a step back. Reevaluate your goals or path. Situations change and you may have vividly changed from the person you were at the beginning of the year. Stop forcing yourself which in turn makes you feel bad about yourself and start to recollect from this moment on and prioritize the current version of you.

Comfort for me is a reward of consistency. It’s almost like a way for honoring everything I’ve done for myself in the past. Superficial things doesn’t define your character. They bring you energy. And it’s an investment in how you feel, not in who you are. Everything I see around me is just a reminder why I should work hard.

In a life where nothing is guaranteed, it’s the belief that you can still build yourself even if you don’t have it all.

Yours truly, @her.matcha.mind
